Last price, bid and ask

The last price is the most recent price at which a trade happened. It sits somewhere between two other prices that matter right now: the bid and the ask.

The bid is the highest price a buyer is offering to pay, and the ask is the lowest price a seller will take. These are the prices you can actually deal at right now.

After hours or overnight, when the exchange is closed, the bid and ask are not tradeable and all three numbers (last price, bid and ask) are stale until the market reopens.
