Tickfloor

Long-term investment checker

Type a stock, ETF or coin and see what holding it for years looked like in the past, from daily closing prices. You get total and yearly return over 1, 3, 5 and 10 years, set against a benchmark: the S&P 500 ETF for US names, the ASX 200 ETF for ASX listings and Bitcoin for coins.

It also shows the worst fall and how long the climb back took, the share of 1-year and 5-year windows that ended higher, how a fixed monthly amount compared with a lump sum, and how bumpy the ride was. Past results, not a prediction. Prices only: dividends, fees and tax are left out.

What does the long-term checker show? Type a stock, ETF or coin and it shows what holding it looked like in the past: total and yearly return over 1, 3, 5 and 10 years where the history reaches that far, the worst fall and how long the recovery took, how often a 1-year or 5-year window ended higher, and how a fixed monthly amount compared with a lump sum. Every figure is a past result.

Is this a prediction or advice? No. It describes what already happened to the price. History can be a poor guide to what comes next, and the tool does not say whether to hold or sell anything. General information, not personal advice. Tickfloor does not hold a financial services licence.

What is it compared against? A US stock or ETF is compared with the S&P 500 ETF (SPY), an ASX listing with the ASX 200 ETF (IOZ), and a coin with Bitcoin. The benchmark itself is not compared with itself.

Are dividends included? No. The figures use daily closing prices, so dividends, franking credits, fees and tax are left out. A share that pays a high dividend will look weaker here than the full return was.

Why is the history shorter for some tickers? Free daily history reaches back about ten years for US names and for coins listed on Binance, and about five years for other markets such as the ASX. The checker only shows periods the history fully covers.
