The comparison in words

TrendSpider describes itself as "automated technical analysis software". Its site lists automated trendlines, chart pattern recognition, over 200 built-in indicators, a Strategy Tester for backtesting your own rules with no coding, alerts and trading bots, and an AI assistant called Sidekick.

Tickfloor runs ten technical indicators (RSI, MACD, the EMA stack, VWAP, Bollinger Bands, StochRSI, ADX, volume, parabolic SAR and candle patterns) across about 120 US and ASX stocks, ETFs and coins, and gives one agreement score per ticker, an hourly board and alerts.

TrendSpider is a platform you work in: you build the analysis, test your own rules and automate alerts. Tickfloor is a quicker, narrower read: do ten common indicators agree on this ticker right now? Some people use a platform like TrendSpider for the work and Tickfloor for a fast second look.

TrendSpider goes much further on tools: automated pattern recognition, more than 200 indicators, a strategy tester for your own ideas, bots and an AI assistant, none of which Tickfloor has. Tickfloor's Backtest Lab (with a pass) tests one daily rule you write on historical data, after costs, which is far narrower than a full strategy tester. What it adds is a published record: 1,346 backtested trading strategies, 0 of 1,778 surviving correction for how many were tried, and every board read since 25 September 2026 logged in public and checked against the price later, misses included. We did not find a comparable public log on TrendSpider's homepage or pricing page, but we may have missed one. TrendSpider's site lists US equities, futures, ETFs, forex and crypto data; we did not find the ASX named on those two pages, while Tickfloor covers ASX names. For building and testing your own technical analysis, use TrendSpider. For a fast read with a public record behind it, use Tickfloor.

Questions

Is Tickfloor a TrendSpider alternative?

Only for one job. TrendSpider is a full technical analysis platform with a strategy tester, alerts and bots. Tickfloor gives a quick agreement score from ten indicators and a public record of its reads. If you want to build, test and automate complex rules, TrendSpider goes much further; Tickfloor's Backtest Lab tests one daily rule at a time.

Can I backtest my own strategy on Tickfloor?

Yes, one daily rule at a time, in the Backtest Lab (needs a pass). Each run shows every trade after costs and is labelled exploration, not a forecast. Tickfloor also publishes the backtests it ran itself, failures included. TrendSpider's site describes a Strategy Tester with far more options for designing and testing trading systems.

Does TrendSpider cover ASX stocks?

TrendSpider's homepage and pricing page list US equities, futures, ETFs, forex and crypto data and do not name the ASX, so we don't claim either way. Check with TrendSpider before relying on it for ASX names. Tickfloor covers about 120 US and ASX stocks, ETFs and coins.
